Because Every Dog is Worth Celebrating
(Especially Yours!)
Meet the team
Lance Koa
(2013?-2023)
Lance was our Head of Security and Co-official Stranger Alert System. If Lili started barking at something suspicious, like a squirrel or a perfectly innocent neighbor, Lance jumped right in and backed her up. Together, they proudly announced every “threat” to the entire block.
But truthfully, he was a homebody with a heart of gold. His favorite place was curled up next to you on the couch, quietly stealing your treats and your soul. Lance had a goofy grin, a gentle spirit, and a deep, unconditional love for his people. He lived his life with quiet gratitude, thankful for every little joy. Each morning, he had a sweet way of waking you up, softly nudging you or staring with those big, loving eyes until you took him out for his morning walk and Chick-fil-A.
He was my heartbeat and the co-inspiration behind everything I do.
Lynn Sehnert
Founder|Photographer | Dog Mom | Snack Dispenser
I’m a road trip warrior who’s checked off 49 of 50 states (Alaska, I’ve got my eye on you!). I brake for cheesy tourist traps, love a good slice of blueberry pie, and rely on my wildly inappropriate sense of humor to handle whatever life throws at me. Growing up as one of eight kids, you needed a good sense of humor to survive.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me listening to audiobooks at double speed, experimenting in the kitchen, or hanging out with Lili, my sidekick and sunshine.
I’m also proud to be an award-winning photographer, recognized by the International Pet Photography Awards, the International Society for Animal Photographers, and Northern Virginia Community College, where I earned my AAS in Photography and Media.

Lilikoi Annabelva (Lili)
Director of Sass and Studio Supervision
Lili is our beloved office manager and unofficial CEO. She keeps everyone in line with her no-nonsense attitude and an impressive side-eye. Her favorite things include sniff-filled walks, cheese, turkey, and keeping a very close watch on the squirrels at the dog park.
She’s the sunshine in my life and the definition of a pampered senior dog, as she should be. Lili has a way of stealing hearts wherever she goes (and snacks, too, if you’re not paying attention).
When I first became a dog mom, I thought love alone was enough. I quickly learned that sometimes our dogs come with quirks, fears, and challenges that require patience, knowledge, and creativity.
Lili’s Story
Lili came into our lives at an adoption event more than ten years ago. She is independent, clever, leash reactive, and not a fan of strangers. She reminds me every day that some dogs experience the world differently, and that’s ok. Lili has taught me to laugh at the small things and to appreciate the joy in everyday moments.
Lance’s Story
A year later, Lance joined our family after I saw his story online. He had been rescued from an abusive situation, and I knew he needed to come home with me. He became my heartbeat dog, a mix of goofy, sweet, and full of love.
Lance had his own challenges too: leash reactivity, resource guarding, fear of the vet, and a horrible fear of thunderstorms and fireworks. He was not easy, but he was mine. He taught me compassion, resilience, and the importance of capturing love in a single image. Even though Lance has passed, his legacy lives on in every photo I take.
What They Taught Me
I was a naive dog parent when Lance and Lili first came into my life. Their needs pushed me to learn and grow in ways I never expected. Because of them, I studied dog behavior and positive reinforcement training, worked with trainers and veterinary behaviorists, and completed the Karen Pryor Academy’s Foundational Training Course.
That knowledge shapes everything I do today. My studio is designed for every dog’s comfort, whether you have a sugar-faced senior, a reactive rescue, or a happy-go-lucky pup who loves everyone.
Our Philosophy and Values
Because of Lance and Lili, I knew I wanted to photograph pets and the people who love them. They are the inspiration behind Lance and Lili Pet Photography and the reason I create artwork that reflects the joy, quirks, and spirit of every beloved pet.
Your dog’s comfort and safety are always my highest priority. Every session is tailored to their needs, whether that means soft footing and extra time for seniors, patience and space for reactive dogs, or fun and play for outgoing pups. Every dog’s quirks are celebrated as part of their story, and every photo is meant to reflect not just how your pet looks, but who they are.
I also believe every pet deserves to stay in the home where they are loved. That is why I support efforts that keep pets with their families and work toward ending breed restrictions that unfairly separate them. While my studio is not fully accessible, I will work with you to make accommodations and ensure your session is as comfortable and inclusive as possible. Above all, I believe in treating people with kindness, regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds. The only non-negotiable here is love for dogs.
