Franklin Park, Purcellville, VA

I’m always looking out for new places to hold a session and Franklin Park in Purcellville, VA is quickly becoming a top spot to take my clients to. Located in Loudoun County, Virginia, Franklin Park is a perfect spot for dogs who need a more secluded session location. Its 203 acres has something for everybody….soccer, baseball, swimming, a dog park, and trails to go horseback riding on.
While the park is perfect for all sessions, because the park isn’t crowded during the off season, it’s a great location for dogs who may be leash reactive or don’t enjoy being around other dogs or people. Leashes remain on during our session, but they are easy to remove. We run into frisbee golfers, but we mostly have had the park to ourselves when I’ve been out there.
I like it because it offers a lot of variety for sessions.
When my clients arrive, as long as the pool isn’t open, I meet them over by the swimming pool. The entrance has white barn doors and the building itself is painted blue. I like the look of the doors and the blue can add a pop of color to images.

After we spend time at the pool area, the choices are unlimited in where we will head next. If there are blossoms, we are going to use them as a backdrop in your session.

There is still so much of the park I haven’t explored and photographed dogs at yet. While I to use the pool area as a jumping off point, I’ve photographed different spots every time I’ve photographed at the park.
