Studio pet photography in Ashburn, VA

The Big Shift: Why I’m Moving to Studio-Only Sessions

If you’ve checked my website lately, you’ve probably noticed something different. Almost all references to outdoor pet photography have disappeared. There’s no longer an option to select an outdoor session, and most outdoor images have quietly made their way off the site. As of October 1, with the exception of Legacy Sessions, Lance and Lili Photography now focuses entirely on studio pet photography in Ashburn, Virginia.

I’ve decided to focus my energy on the creativity that studio photography for pets allows. We don’t have to worry about rain, heat, cold, or bugs. Your pet can relax in a calm, comfortable space where we can take our time and create beautiful, expressive images.

Studio sessions also give me more freedom to play with lighting, color, and backdrops to match your pet’s personality. Whether your dog is a total ham for the camera or prefers a quieter approach, the studio lets me design a session that fits them perfectly.

There are two studio spaces to choose from at my Ashburn pet photography studio. The main studio is bright, cozy, and ideal for most pets. The second studio is located on the first floor and is perfect for dogs who have trouble with stairs or for those who simply prefer not to use them. No elevators here, so even dogs who don’t trust moving boxes on cables can rest easy. Both spaces are set up to keep pets safe, comfortable, and stress-free.

Studio sessions come with a lot of perks for both pets and their people. No more rescheduling because of thunderstorms or heat waves. No muddy paws on the way home. No harsh sunlight, no mosquitoes, and absolutely no boob sweat or mascara running down your face. Everything is consistent, comfortable, and focused on creating images that will look stunning on your walls.

It also means I can plan creative, personality-filled sessions year-round. Whether you love bright and modern looks or something softer and classic, we can make it happen right here in the studio. Being indoors also helps shy, senior, or reactive dogs relax and enjoy their experience without distractions.

If you want to make a day of it, there’s plenty to do after your session. Loudoun County is full of dog-friendly parks, wineries, and breweries where you and your pup can unwind together. Many clients make the short trip from Washington, DC, Maryland, and other parts of Northern Virginia to visit the studio in Ashburn. It’s an easy drive from anywhere in the DMV, and once you’re here, you can turn your pet’s photo day into a fun outing with scenic trails, outdoor patios, and plenty of spots for a post-session snack or drink if your pup isn’t too worn out from being the star of the show.

At the heart of it all, my goal hasn’t changed. Every photo still tells a story of love. The studio has simply become the best place to tell that story. It’s where your pet can shine, where their personality comes alive, and where we can create artwork that celebrates the bond you share.

Your pets are family, and they deserve to be photographed in a way that captures everything you love about them. I can’t wait to welcome you into my Loudoun County pet photography studio, where every photo tells a story of love, joy, and connection.
